The 2010 Harden’s Guide Applauds Bohemia’s Exceptional Cuisine

This week Bohemia Bar & Restaurant received the news that its cuisine had been rated as ‘exceptional’ in the 2010 Harden’s Guide.

Readers of the guide are told that Bohemia is ‘worth seeking out for Shaun Rankin’s original cuisine… at simply astonishing prices – the set lunch, in particular, offers unbelievable value’.

Harden’s reporters assess the food, service and ambience at selected restaurants, comparing them to other establishments in the same price bracket, and give them a rating between 1 and 5 with 1 being ‘exceptional’ and 5 ‘poor’.

The opinions expressed in the Harden’s Guide are based on what is now the largest annual survey of restaurant-goers in the UK.  Over 8000 people took part in the 2010 guide contributing 85,000 reviews of over 3,000 establishments.

Bohemia Bar & Restaurant Owner, Lawrence Huggler, recognises the value of the publication and comments: ‘The Harden’s Guide is the most extensive guide available for places to eat across the whole of the UK and I am extremely proud that we achieved a rating of exceptional (1) for our food and very good (2) for service.  The fact that the guide is created from opinions expressed by a number of independent reporters makes it even more special and helps boost confidence in our offering.   I am extremely proud of our whole team and look forward to continuing to go from strength to strength in 2010’.

In addition, the Harden’s Guide mentions The Club Hotel & Spa as a top choice for both eating and sleeping and gives Bohemia a UK Style rating of two stars**.

Since its launch in 2004, with Rankin at the helm, Bohemia has received an impressive array of accolades, including a Michelin Star which it has held onto since 2005, 4 AA Rosettes and ranking as the 17th Best Restaurant in the UK by the 2010 Good Food Guide.  Rankin has been heralded as ‘one of the most gifted, highly polished chefs in the British Isles’ by The Independent’s Food Critic Terry Durack and his treacle tart featured in the winning menu on the 2009 BBC Two’s Great British Menu.
